Canned saury soup- This is a quick dish, the ingredients for which are almost always available in the house. It's simple and quick to prepare, it turns out delicious and adds variety to the daily menu.

This fish soup with pieces of saury, as it seems to many of us, may be slightly inferior in taste to soups made from fresh fish, but it will save you a lot of time on preparation.

note when buying canned saury for the following: the name of the jar may read “Natural Pacific saury” (this is what you need) or “Natural Pacific saury with added oil"(but this is not very good for soup), buy without adding oil.

    Need to:

    • Canned food “Natural Pacific saury” – 1 can (net weight – 250 grams)
    • Rice – 0.5 cups (cereals before cooking)
    • Carrots – 1 medium-sized piece, you can use frozen semi-finished product (look at this Here)
    • Onion – 1 medium sized onion
    • Salt – 0.5 tablespoon
    • Bay leaf – 1-2 leaves
    • Black peppercorns – 6-8 peas
    • Potatoes – 5-6 medium sized pieces
    • Dried chopped dill – 2 teaspoons
    • Dried chopped parsley - 2 teaspoons

This quantity of products makes a three-liter pot of soup.

    Preparation:

Place the rice in a saucepan and rinse with cold water 3-4 times, carefully discarding the cloudy water each time. Then fill the rice with cold water to about halfway up the pan and place it on the stove on high.

While the water and rice are boiling, peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Carrots (if you don't use frozen, check this out) ) we also clean and chop (you can use a coarse grater, you can finely cut with a knife into circles, semicircles or strips). We peel the onion (but do not cut it!).

When the water in the pan boils, add salt, put chopped potatoes, carrots, whole peeled onion, bay leaf, and peppercorns into the pan. Mix everything so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the pan under the weight of the potatoes.

Bring to a boil again. After boiling, reduce the heat level and cook at low simmer for 30 minutes (do not cover the pan with a lid, carefully remove the small amount of foam that forms with a spoon). By the way, boil some water in the kettle, we may need it a little later.

When 30 minutes have passed, remove the onion from the pan and throw it away, open the can of canned saury and put the entire contents of the can into the pan.

Add dried dill and parsley to the pan and mix everything.
