How to prepare for military service: personal experience. How to make military service attractive? Need for physical training

03.03.2020 Trips

Hello. Today is a rather unusual post again. About the army. I want to immediately say to all those who have served or will serve, everything may be completely different. Article how to survive in the army I write exclusively based on the example of my service.

So, once you join the army, you are, as it were, a nobody in the first 2 weeks. Until you take the oath, you are undergoing a young fighter course (KMB). Here you are prepared for military service.

There are quite a lot of fellow countrymen at KMB. Those with whom you were drafted from the military registration and enlistment office to the KMB will be with you. This is a huge plus. Some people had already become “quick” on the train, some were even already acquainted.

There are 2 types of barracks: general (which we are used to seeing on TV), where everyone sleeps in one large room, and divided into “cubbies” (cubrik is when soldiers live in rooms from 4 to 12 people on average). That is, it can be compared to a hostel.

I was lucky, we ended up in a part where there is a division into cockpits. Barracks “ general type” every year there are fewer and fewer in the country. Because of this, there is a division into “groups”. That is, usually those who live in the same “hood” are friends.

In general, if you are a tense person, then it will be difficult for you in the army. You need to loosen up and be friends with someone. At the KMB you will not see “grandfathers”, only sergeants and officers who persistently prepare you for the army.

At first it was hard: getting dressed at lightning speed, playing the “hang up” – “get up” game. That is, after the command to hang up, everyone should very quickly lie in bed, and on the command to rise, they should line up. It takes about 1.5 minutes to get dressed (before, when there were tarpaulin boots (without laces) and not ankle boots, it was around 45 seconds). If someone didn’t have time, then hang up and get back up again. As they say, “there’s a problem in the company, the whole company is sweating” :).

In general, in the army they study collectively. One messed up, everyone answers. Your main task: don't mess up. I remember one went to the chipok without permission, so because of him we didn’t see the chipok for almost a whole week. I don’t care, but so many of his comrades looked at him wryly.

Therefore, there is no need to “mess up”. Let's take the morning check. It is done every day: the cleanliness of the ankle boots, haircut, shaven, cleanliness of the hem and the presence of piping are checked (the hair at the back near the neck must be straight). That's all! But, damn it, some people manage to not even keep track of these basic things. By doing these basic things as expected, you will get rid of unnecessary unnecessary attention to yourself.

What I remember in the first days is calluses. While the boots are new, the blisters are getting terrible. Many had blood blisters. Well, at least the KMB officers were allowed to wear slippers on the parade ground. I didn’t want to join the “slipper troops,” I found another way out: I wrapped a handkerchief or piece of cloth over my socks (in some units there were still foot wraps) where the pain was. Oddly enough, the calluses began to heal. We tried to “beat” the boots with a hammer and other heavy objects, but this did not help. And yes, it’s better to take boots one size larger than the butt size, otherwise you’ll still need to wear thick socks in winter.

How to behave at KMB? With understanding. Hard to learn, easy to fight. And the commander at the KMB was like the first teacher at school for me.

Even at KMB I understood the main rule in the army:you need to be bolder . Here, more than anywhere else, you need to be able to say “No.” Otherwise they will climb on your neck. It is necessary to “send” whoever is needed during the time, but, well the most important thing is to stick together. Together with comrades, support each other.

It was also quite unusual to eat quickly in the cafeteria. Someone didn’t have time and I saw the following picture: a salad, a main dish and a side dish are thrown into the soup, and all this megaporridge is quickly eaten.

Well, after the KMB the most interesting thing begins: “grandfathers”, other officers, etc. Well, I’ll tell you about this tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

To be continued…

Today is February 28th. The last day of winter reminds all persons of conscription age who have not had time to pay their military duty that the spring conscription of 2013 is just around the corner. How willing are today's young people to fulfill their constitutional responsibility? Recently, information related to what is needed to increase the prestige of military service in the Russian army has become quite active. Wherein different people Those who consider themselves experts on this issue often express diametrically opposed versions.

Some are confident that the Russian army will become truly effective, combat-ready and attractive to potential conscripts only when there is a return to the Soviet version of troop recruitment. Some people believe that only a contractual basis can be considered a panacea for ensuring the security of our state. There are also those who declare the need to create an exclusively Russian volunteer army, the very fact of being included in which for conscripts or contract soldiers will be considered a great success.

A supporter of the idea of creating a volunteer army is, for example, the leader of the Russian Liberal Democrats, Vladimir Zhirinovsky. True, at the same time, Vladimir Volfovich does not explain what exactly is needed in order for young people to join the Russian army exclusively on a voluntary basis, at the call of their conscience and at the same time, in his own words, not be afraid to receive a conscription notice from the regional military registration and enlistment office . In general, the idea was voiced by one of the most extravagant politicians in Russia, and then, as they say, it’s up to you...

Based on this, let's try to figure out what the average modern young man really needs in order for him to realize the need to serve the Motherland and at the same time put on a military uniform not as a yoke, but with a full sense of his involvement in something big and important for the country and its citizens' cause.

First, you need to turn to official figures that reveal the number of so-called draft dodgers - that is, young people of military age who do everything to avoid being drafted. military service. According to the General Staff, at the end of 2012 there were Russian Federation Just over 166 thousand people were recorded. This is comparable to the indicators of the draft itself. However, if you believe official data, the figure is 18% lower than in 2011.

However, it should be noted that there are several regions where the number of evaders from military service is over Last year has grown. These regions include Chelyabinsk, Penza, Omsk, Samara regions and the Republic of Chuvashia. Oddly enough, some of the best indicators for reducing the number of draft dodgers were recorded in Moscow - the number of “mowing down”, judging by the reports of the capital’s military commissar, decreased by almost 1.5 times compared to 2011. Official reports are, of course, a delicate matter... However, let’s return to the question raised about what our young people need so that they are willing to join the army.

Option 1. Increasing the amount of monetary allowance for conscripts

Proponents of this idea say that increasing the amount of monetary allowance will stimulate the conscript and force him to treat military service as if he were performing duties in any other workplace. As they say, advance, bonus and all that...

On the one hand, the idea is, of course, sound, but on the other hand, how to determine what kind of material, let’s say, bonus is capable of “reasoning” with the modern young man and make him understand that he is obliged to do his job to protect the borders of his homeland. For one, 5 thousand rubles is an option, while the other will consider 50 thousand rubles a payment misunderstanding.

But even if we decide on an average option, this will not at all mean that all conscripts, without exception, will perform the duties assigned to them with the same zeal. This time. And who today will give a 100% guarantee that all these “increased amounts of monetary allowance” will reach exclusively the conscript, and will begin to go into the pockets of, let’s say, other interested parties. That's two.

In the end, the very transfer of conscription service to money automatically turns into a kind of contract service - service for material interest. A kind of nonsense in the form of “conscript-mercenary”. And one can argue for a very long time about the effectiveness of the service on the part of mercenaries. So, will our army turn from the introduction of such an innovation into a kind of JSC “Armed Forces”?.. Big question.

Option 2. Preventing conscientious objectors from high government positions in the future

This innovation has already been adopted. However, is there an agency in our country that has the right to determine who is a conscientious objector and who “simply didn’t work out” with the army? After all, with the level of notorious corruption that exists today, anyone can get the diagnosis they need, which hardly anyone will have the desire to check at first. And if it doesn’t arise at first, then it will certainly be too late: as they say, it’s overkill... A government official with scoliosis or poor eyesight is no option to bypass this, at first glance, sensible initiative.

Option 3. Completely rid the army of hazing

But again, this is all at the level of a beautiful slogan. After all, in fact, the presence or absence of hazing is determined not by the directives of the General Staff, but directly by those officers who work with the rank and file. It’s one thing when a general from Moscow declares that hazing in the army must be burned out with a hot iron, and it’s a completely different thing when a specific officer takes charge of restoring order in the unit entrusted to him.

In which case is there more efficiency? Right! – You can even turn off the general on TV... And obliging all current officers, without exception, to follow the path of indispensable eradication of hazing in the army is a utopia... There is no need to oblige, but, as they say, from the cadet bench, excuse me, hammer it in - so that it will thoroughly stick .

Option 4. As a number of our fellow citizens propose: get rid of the oligarchs, create a people's government, and then young people will definitely pour into the ranks of the Russian army - certainly voluntarily

Usually those gentlemen who are currently in a state of “slope” like to argue this way... They say, for the sake of “your” Abramovichs, Deripaskas and various Vekselbergs, I won’t go to guard the borders... The argument, of course, is entertaining, but clearly from the category of “ How else can I come up with something like this so that I can sit out behind other people’s backs until I’m 27?».

So, to those gentlemen who think precisely in these paradigms, I would like to say: the safety of Deripaska and other Abramovichs with their financial well-being is, apparently, an absolute phenomenon today (whether you pass the emergency or not), which cannot be said about you and your relatives, when non-humans suddenly burst into your school (as in Beslan), into your hospital (as in Budennovsk), into your theater (as in Dubrovka), who have a different view of the value of your life...

Oh, yes... The people's government... Well, who are we kidding here?.. Only if we are ourselves. Was it like this in our country in 1812, when the Russian army was driving the French along Smolenka? Perhaps the people were in power in 1791 or 1878, when the Turks experienced the power of Russian weapons? Well, it’s just that in every episode from the history of Russia, only people’s governments appear...

It turns out that increasing the prestige of the service cannot be directly related to either money or options political system, nor with statements from high military officials. All these things are actually transitory. The prestige of the service and the interest of young people in it should be cultivated, as they say, from a young age. Even if this sounds somewhat pretentious, when they start scaring a young man in elementary school with “army horror stories,” then what kind of prestige can we even talk about? It is necessary to realize that the army is not a separate matter stewing in its own juice, but one of the social forms, and therefore it is simply pointless to consider its development outside the context of social development.

The serviceman's badge is produced according to the standard and is issued upon entering service or concluding a contract. In this case, it serves as a military personnel identification card, but there is also a souvenir version of the medallion, which can become a memorable gift. We will look at the process of its manufacture in this article.

Materials for creating a token

On the Internet you can find many detailed, but not always reliable video tutorials about making tokens. Amateur craftsmen use different tools, devices and materials as raw materials. After analyzing several master classes on how to make a token, you can highlight the most accessible and simple options. For this you will need:

  • aluminum plate;
  • metal scissors;
  • hammer;
  • nail;
  • drill;
  • sandpaper;
  • chain or cord.

Medallions are made of steel or aluminum. Steel products are stronger and more aesthetically pleasing, but aluminum products are softer, so they are easier to process at home. Aluminum plates do not bend, do not corrode, and are excellent for various pendants.

First of all, you need to select a base for the token - a flat plate from which you can cut a blank. A sheet of aluminum 2 mm thick is sufficient. If there is no such base, then you can take the advice of the craftsmen on how to make an army tag with your own hands, and use an aluminum spoon, previously leveled on an anvil with a hammer.

How to make an army dog tag

After preparatory stage will be completed, it is necessary to apply mold markings to the prepared material. To do this, you can circle a ready-made standard token or a printed image of the product in natural sizes. Then cut the base with metal scissors and process the edges, sanding both sides of the workpiece.

When deciding how to do it, pay attention to the inscription - first of all, it should contain an identification number. The sketch of the inscription is made in pencil. This will allow the information to be evenly distributed and will also greatly simplify the engraving process. Data can be copied from a ready-made army medallion or army soldier’s ID card.

Letters and numbers on the aluminum plate should be applied using a small nail acting as a chisel. To create neat elements on the token, the edge of such a chisel is ground and dulled to the required size. It is important to get the desired font thickness without breaking through the token.

In order to better understand how to make a token with your own hands, you can watch videos on video channels, study comments and messages from users on specialized forums. And only after that get down to business yourself. The main thing is not to overdo it when hitting the chisel with a hammer, and not to rush, trying to make the work neat and visually attractive.

What to do in case of failure

If, despite all your efforts, you have not been able to create a souvenir army dog tag with your own hands, do not despair. Firstly, it is not so easy to complete this task the first time, and secondly, it requires large quantity time and effort.

There are many companies today that provide custom dog tags and engraving. Their arsenal includes: good equipment, high-quality basics, and most importantly - standard blanks and original fonts.

If you are unable to achieve the desired result or do not have the appropriate material, you can place an order online with your sketch.

Military service is one of the most difficult and memorable stages in a man’s life. If you are just about to go to work, don’t worry, Russian army Such phenomena as hazing, lost health and poor nutrition have already disappeared. Of course, the service cannot be called easy, but armed with basic knowledge about modern service and having prepared a little– You will be able to endure the service much easier, both mentally and physically.

The article is based on personal experience of serving in the army: from June 2014. to June 2015 in the signal troops. I’ll tell you about what I would prepare for if I knew in advance what awaited me in the service.

Need for physical training

Depending on the type of troops, you will need physical training to varying degrees, but its need in the army is obvious. You should not count on the fact that it is during your service that you will improve your “physics” - after all, from the very beginning, the loads can be prohibitive, and you need to approach them well prepared. Therefore, if you still have time before the start of the service, devote it to daily jogging several kilometers, pull-ups and push-ups. By the way, in the army you will run in ankle boots, which are several times heavier than your usual shoes, so devote some time to running Special attention— it is relevant throughout the entire service life.

Driving license category C, D

If you already have driver's license, especially category C or D, a must mention it when filling out various forms, questionnaires, etc. You may be lucky enough to get hired as a driver. military equipment, which will allow you to avoid numerous outfits that are most exhausting for a serviceman.

Ability to defend your point of view

IN modern army fights have become a phenomenon quite rare, because even minor injuries to the faces of soldiers can develop into a criminal case for the command of the unit - military personnel are constantly reminded of this. Therefore, you should not be afraid to enter into conflict with other “conscripts” - most likely the matter will not go beyond a verbal altercation, and defending your point of view in the army is extremely important. You should not enter into conflicts or disputes with officers or contract soldiers, at least for the first few months of service, until you understand how it will end for you.

Careful attitude towards things and money

For reasons unknown to me, theft is very rampant in the army, and from one’s own comrades. Everything disappears - from combat boots, uniforms, headgear to money, mobile phones and by bank card(You will be given it to receive your monthly salary; in 2015 it was 2000 rubles/month). Therefore, throughout the entire period of service you need to monitor things both day and night - mobile phone, money and card - it’s better to keep it with you constantly, and the uniform and boots - immediately after receipt - sign with a marker in several places, and leave less unattended.

Military ranks

A few months after the start of your service, you will already know all the military ranks by heart, but at the beginning of your service this knowledge would also be useful - for example, to correctly address an officer and avoid receiving a portion of selective obscenities addressed to you.

It is best to immediately memorize the ranks of the Russian Army:

Ability to properly address superiors

In all military units, the rules for addressing military personnel are the same:

  1. If you are going to enter a room where officers or sergeants are present, then you need to knock, open the door, and stand at attention in the doorway (giving a military salute if you are wearing a headdress; if not, put your hands at your sides). Next, you need to contact ONLY the senior in rank, asking him for permission to address him or another serviceman, and immediately introduce yourself, giving your military rank and surname, for example: “Comrade Major, allow me to address you, Private Ivanov” or “Comrade Major , allow me to address comrade lieutenant, private Ivanov.” Compliance with such rules in the army is mandatory, and in case of incorrect treatment you will have a “pleasant” conversation.
  2. If you are already in the premises, or walking through the territory of the unit, and want to address one of the officers or sergeants, you must stop at attention, give a military salute (or arms at your sides if there is no headdress), and ask permission to address, for example: “Comrade Senior Lieutenant, allow me to address you, Private Ivanov.”

Daily outfits

In almost all military units, conscripts face a test in the form of daily assignments, the most common of which are - company orderly; patrol; company duty officer; messenger at headquarters. Let's dwell on a few important points.

Firstly, while wearing each of the above outfits, you will be given bayonet knife- a symbolic item, but you need to watch it very carefully. Loss of it will result in criminal liability under Art. 348 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Loss of military property”, so this is a “tidbit” for old-timers who will try to steal it from you or take it away by force (and then sell it back). The best way To protect yourself from losing a bayonet knife - use several rings, which are used “in civilian life” to form a bunch of keys. Such rings will securely connect the bayonet-knife with its case on your belt, and it will be extremely difficult to steal it from you.

If they try to take the bayonet-knife from you by force, then you have the right to use the most severe self-defense techniques, and then report to the command that they were protecting military property.

Secondly, when you join one of the above outfits, you will have to go through a preparatory event - a “divorce”, at which you will be questioned on knowledge Your responsibilities. I advise you to make an effort and learn them once and for all at the beginning of your service, so that later you don’t let your comrades and commander down by not knowing simple things.

Strong immunity

One thing you don’t get a lot of in the army is this immunity. The probability of getting a cold is very high even in the summer, let alone the cold season.

If you still have time before leaving for service, make every effort to do so, because... The sanitary unit, where you will end up in case of illness, is not the most pleasant place, believe me.

Savvy

Officers in the army love to give soldiers difficult tasks, set impossible deadlines for completing them, etc. There is no need to be afraid of this, the main thing is always sure that everything will work out for you, and also try to think with your head. In the end, no one has ever died from failure to complete a task, but the cunning and ingenuity displayed in completing it can be valued even higher than the result.

Ability to sew quickly and accurately

The ability to sew in the army will be useful to you literally every day, because... Modern army uniforms (as of 2015) include a “hem” - a piece of white fabric that is sewn to the soldier’s collar daily. There are situations when you have to tear off the old “hem” and sew on a new one within a few minutes, this is where your sewing skills come in handy.

Will the girl wait?

Any guy who had a permanent relationship “in civilian life” will constantly worry about “will she wait for him to return from service?” As practice has shown, 80% of my comrades, including me, did not receive girls from the army. But the good news is that if the girl didn’t wait for you, then the relationship was doomed, because... the one who truly loves you will definitely wait for you. And remember that after finishing your service you will definitely find something better for yourself!

Russian-army dictionary

There is a certain established terminology, which is used primarily during service. Below is a list of all the army terms that I came across during my service:

“Chipok”, “chipar”, “teapot”— a grocery store located on the territory of the unit. Military personnel are allowed to go there only with the permission of the company commander or platoon commander (but this is only the first time).

"Cockpit"— the space in the barracks between the beds. As a rule, in the barracks there is an even number of cubicles, which conscripts have to clean daily

"Boil"(v.) - sleep. “Boiled” - fell asleep

"Starley"- senior lieutenant

"Cap"- captain (most often, company commander)

"Srokan"- conscript

"Double bass"- contract soldier

"Citizen"- everything that happens outside the army, i.e. "in civilian life." In addition, “civilian clothing” is also called clothing that we wear outside of military service, everyday

"Kantik"- an evenly trimmed and smoothly shaved part on the back of a serviceman’s head. Usually checked at morning inspection

"Tapik"- push-button telephone. It is in great demand in the army, because... phones with cameras are prohibited in many parts, and even if you manage to keep such a phone “without a flaw”, it is easy to lose it or it will simply be stolen

"Kapterka"- storage place for military equipment, uniforms, gas masks, medicines, etc. As a rule, the privateer's office is headed by a warrant officer, who takes one of the "conscripts" as his assistant for the duration of his service.

"SOCHI"- unauthorized abandonment of a part. Used as, to visit “SOCHI”.

"Leninskaya", "leninka"- one of the rooms in the barracks, intended for military personnel’s leisure time - watching TV, reading, lectures.

"Rubber Day"- one of the days a week (usually Wednesday) when all military personnel must have a gas mask with them. On this day, drills are held to put on a gas mask.

"Clerk, clerk"- a conscript soldier who does paperwork in a specially designated room in the barracks - the “office”. As a rule, he is exempt from most of the duties of a military personnel.

"Duty room"- a room on the 1st floor of the barracks, where officers are on duty 24 hours a day.

"Buttonholes"- insignia of a variety of troops, which are attached to the collar

"Lychki"- insignia that are attached to shoulder straps and allow you to distinguish the ranks of non-commissioned personnel (for sergeants - badges; for officers - asterisks).

How everything will go

You truly begin to feel the closeness of the army at the moment when a summons arrives. This moment caught me when I was finishing my studies at the university; There were a few months left - I had to undergo a medical examination.

I was not going to look for reasons to declare me “unfit”, so at the medical examination I told all the doctors: “there are no complaints.” Despite this, I was sent for additional examinations several times, which is why the medical examination dragged on for more than a month. Fortunately, I was able to finish completing it before the end of the call, and I didn’t have to wait an extra few months until the next call. After passing the medical examination, I reappeared at the military registration and enlistment office and received a summons to appear with subsequent departure to my place of duty.

If you have already been assigned a departure date for service, then make sure that on this day you have nothing valuable was worn– You will be given a uniform and you will no longer see your clothes. In addition, take a marker with you, and after issuing the form, put a mark on the inside of each item so that you can identify your items (especially hats, they disappear most often).

From the military registration and enlistment office you and several dozen other guys will be taken to collection point, where you will spend from several hours to several days, depending on how valuable a candidate you are. The most sought-after candidates are: those with health category “A”; driver license categories “C, D”, having higher education, especially in a specialty that coincides with the type of troops. I was assigned to the signal troops.

In conclusion, I will say that military service, although it was a difficult test, gave a bunch of pleasant memories; true friends with whom we still communicate (although almost 2.5 years have passed); as well as a whole “baggage” of army stories, which are distinguished by a special, unique atmosphere.

With this I say goodbye to you and wish you a successful and easy service! Ask any questions you have in the comments, I will answer everyone.

I wish you good health, dear readers of the Army blog: an inside look and those for whom this article will be the first on the site.

It's September 28th. There are exactly 3 days left before the start of the next military conscription. Conscription II - 2015 or autumn conscription 2015.

That is why a few days ago the idea came to me to write an article addressing conscripts. An article that will be most useful for everyone who is going to join the army.

Without water and unnecessary pictures. Naked facts and tips on what you need to do BEFORE and DURING the start of your service in order to spend the next 365 days at your best. So, my 10 tips for you, conscript.

1. Go through the final medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office and bring all the documents they need as soon as possible.

This advice applies to a lesser extent to those who are called up in a week, but it is still relevant even for those who will only be called up in December.

Guys, don’t wait for the moment when there is nowhere to sit at the military registration and enlistment office.

My experience shows that the closer the draft, the more people hang out at the military registration and enlistment office. Your task is to do everything quickly and in an organized manner.

If you approach the matter wisely, you can visit the military registration and enlistment office only 2 times before being drafted. That is, arrange everything you need in a few days. (Not for 2, because you will have to wait for test results at the clinic)

2. Learn to sew.

No, I'm not saying that you should sew a curtain or something else for your home with your own hands. But you must be able to sew on a button and sew up a hole if necessary.

If you don’t learn how to do this before the army, the army will teach you itself. Just be prepared for the fact that before this you will receive a girlish nickname, and because of this your authority will not rise above the baseboard.

3. Change your attitude towards physical development.

If you are a professional athlete, then you can move on to the next point.

And if not... Congratulations. You are one of 90% of the people who surround me now.
They didn’t play sports, they don’t know how to do pull-ups, they only run every other time. And they smoke like locomotives.

So, what do you need to do so that after hearing these phrases in the army you don’t faint:

  • Switch to sleep mode 22.00-06.00 as early as possible

This will allow you to overcome the period of adaptation to the army as comfortably as possible. And you will get up in the morning cheerful and ready for the morning workout.

  • Run at least 1 kilometer in the morning

A kilometer is the minimum we ran in the mornings during the first weeks. Because in the company there were fatheads and scumbags, who by the end of our first circle were somewhere in the middle of the path.

If you don’t want to become one of those people who constantly stop your company, start running even before you are drafted.

  • Learn to do pull-ups on the horizontal bar

Ideally, 15 times. After all, in order to pass the physical training exam with excellent marks, we need to do 15 pull-ups.

And without this exam you will not get a junior sergeant. This is how we do it.

  • Switch to three meals a day

Before the draft, I ate 5-6 times a day every day. In the army I eat 3 meals. And no one will give you anything else to eat. Even your food.

In the first 3 days of service I lost 4 kilograms. This is not only because of food, but “thanks” to it too. I was very hungry.

Our schedule is as follows: 07.30 – breakfast. 14.30 - lunch. 18.30 - dinner.

I draw your attention to the long period of time between breakfast and lunch.

4. The day before the call, cut your hair as short as possible.

Yes, I know how hard it is. You now have beautiful hair, and then they tell you that you need to cut your hair to zero.

I left myself with 9mm of hair. But that's a lot. I was forced to cut my hair during the first days of my service.

The less hair you have, the later you will get your first haircut in the army. And this will be a plus for you, because in 2 weeks (depending on how your hair grows) you will already get the hang of it and can easily allocate time for yourself.

Otherwise - vanity, nerves, stress, screaming, panic. I've seen guys go through this.

IMPORTANT. For those who think: “Why spend money if they give you a free haircut in the army?”

In the army, your comrade will cut your hair. That is, a person you don’t know. Most likely, he will take a typewriter for the first time in his life. We had these.

When you first arrive at the unit with your hair, you will immediately attract negative attention from your superiors. 4 such people arrived with me in the team from St. Petersburg. They were publicly laughed at for about 10 minutes. Do you need it? Is 200 rubles a pity? It will take a long time to restore your reputation.

5. On the day of conscription, take your passport, license and diploma with you to the military registration and enlistment office.

You definitely have a passport. If you have the rest, take it. It may not be useful, but if so, then it will be easier to give it to your relatives (or send it from there by mail for free) than to then worry and think about where to store them in parts.

I included this as a separate item from the bonus because I made a mistake myself. The military registration and enlistment office clearly told me that a passport was not needed. The result is that my mother went home to get her passport. It’s good that I was drafted from the same place where I live. What if you are drafted from another locality?

Advice on preparing for service is over. Now some tips that will help you avoid getting screwed at the beginning of your service.

6. Don’t open your mouth where you can remain silent.

It is very important. We have so many hackers who tried to break this law of the army.

My advice to you: if they are not talking to you, then just remain silent. Even if you think you're the smartest.

7. Listen carefully and remember everything that old-timers and commanders tell you.

Attentiveness is the key to success in the army. They won’t recommend you something that they haven’t gone through themselves. These will be the most valuable advice during the service. Even more valuable than mine.

Just don’t miss a single one, and based on what you hear, adjust your behavior model.

8. Analyze everything that happens around you.

This is what I “grew up” on in the army. I'm not saying that I became a "prison dad" here. I’m saying that thanks to this, during 3 months of service I was not given a single comment from my superiors.

I saw that your friend entered the sleeping area incorrectly - remember how he did it. He will be corrected until he gets it right. Did it right - remember that! All the mistakes, and most importantly - the correct options for requests/reports/execution of commands and everything else. You must remember and assimilate all this.

As they say at school and university: absorb like a sponge! It's the same here.

9. If you don’t know, ask someone who knows for sure.

Very important. Pay attention to the end of the sentence: “... from the one who knows.” Not from your fellow know-nothing, but from someone who knows for sure. From one's own or someone else's junior sergeant or officer.

It's better than following orders incorrectly and then hearing about how stupid you are.

10. Every evening before going to bed, wash your feet in cold water and with regular soap.

Unless you want to spend the entire service in the infirmary, of course. And there are plenty of them here!

If you are normal and want to make do with “minimal losses” in the first weeks, then follow this advice. Every day without exception.

Cold water. And only with authorized soap. It's magical, guys. There will be no calluses or there will be much less than there could be. At least you can walk.

All according to advice. Let's move on to the bonus that I already mentioned above.

BONUS

What to take with you to the army?

I want to take more of everything. Especially if your mother and grandmother are picking you up. But everything is impossible. And you don't need much either. Now I will explain why.

IMPORTANT. No glass, piercing or cutting objects. They will be taken away at the collection point, just as they took my aftershave gel, needles and something else.

IMPORTANT 2. I make this as a separate point. NO MEDICATIONS. They will also be taken away immediately.

IMPORTANT 3. Pay special attention to the number of things I wrote about. If I wrote in the singular, it means you need to take exactly 1 piece. No more and no less. If you wrote 2 presses, that means 2 presses, not a pack. Anything extra will be taken away. And it’s not at all a fact that they will return...

All the tips and bonus described above are purely my thoughts and come from my own experience of three months of service in a battalion of junior specialists.

I know that each part has its own charter. But I assure you that I told you as close as possible to those parts where the charter is known and respected. I hope that the majority are like this. Our whole life is strictly according to the rules. Yes, not ideal. There are differences of opinion, but I can't imagine a part where the charter is loved and respected more than here.

Therefore, all of the above can be taken as “correct”. If you don’t agree with me, then at least agree that these tips and list of things will definitely not be superfluous.

P.S. I am addressing those who are already serving or have served literally for a year. Friends, if you have anything to add to my lists, feel free to write about it in the comments.

This article, like the “Conscripts” section, was created solely for the benefit of all those who are about to serve. But I believe that there is no such thing as too much benefit! So let’s connect, dear demobilizers and others.

P.P.S. You can also ask your questions in the comments. I will be happy to answer everything, everything, everything!

We wish you easy service,
