When you get there, get ready to meet your opponents. One of the opponents will be the “Wailer”, you will not be able to defeat him, so you need to quickly run to the “barn”.

Shotgun

In the third chapter, activate the side quest "Robber Signal". As you progress through it, you will interact with a computer in the basement, which will provide access to the armory. Complete the mission and get your shotgun.

Go to the southwestern residential area. Nearby there is a military truck with the body of a soldier nailed to a box. Collect arrows and crossbow from the box.

Flamethrower
Location: Chapter 11/13.

Getting a flamethrower is not as easy as other weapons. You need to kill the boss in Chapter 1 and pick up the broken weapon, but you can't use it until you reach Chapter 13. In Chapter 13, you will have to defeat two enemies to pick up the fuel tanks. One of the tanks is located near the starting safe house, and the second is at the southern safe house next to Diner.

Now that all the spare parts are there, all that remains is to kill those two opponents and the flamethrower can be assembled.

! If you use this weapon on Laura in Chapter 14, you will get the achievement.

Survival Knife

A large hunting knife that is suitable for secretly killing enemies in close combat (you need to approach the enemy from behind). You will receive it when completing the main story in the second chapter. In it you will be chased by a monster with a rotating blade. When the second chase begins, you will reach a red corridor. An enemy will appear on the other side and throw a knife at you. You will be able to dodge the throw, take the knife and leave this area safe and sound. Now you will be able to kill monsters with a knife.

Semi-Automatic Handgun

Another story weapon that can't be missed. At the end of Chapter 2, a few minutes after receiving the knife, you will be taken to small house. Before leaving it, the hero will independently take a cannon from the nightstand standing not far from the door.

Hand Axes

This melee weapon is consumable, as it breaks after the first use. However, it can replace a knife in close combat. You can find them the same way as most other game items - just pick up axes from the ground. These hatchets can also be taken from enemies. For example, monsters living in the northeast of O’Neal’s hideout wield such weapons.

Crossbow (Warden Crossbow)

The first Overseer's Crossbow can be found in the southwestern side of the Residential Area. You will be able to get here almost at the very beginning of the game. During Chapter 3, when you finally get to Union, you will be given a goal to get to O'Neill's hideout.

When you leave the safe house and take a few steps towards the road, a short cutscene will begin, which will show how the Union is falling apart. At this point, just follow the street to the end. If you pick up your communicator, you will find a fallen Mobius operative. When you check the map, you will see that there is a weapon near this agent. The crossbow can be found directly behind the white Humvee, near what appears to be a roadblock. It lies on a gray box next to the dead agent. You'll also find one Shock Bolt here, which we recommend you save for boss fights.

The Overseer's crossbow can be modified at special versts, which are located in shelters. Once you pick up a weapon and collect enough additional parts, you will be able to upgrade your crossbow. We advise you to reduce the time required to reload it, as well as increase its rate of fire, ammunition and power. In addition, it is worth finding an upgrade based on the skills of the main character. To do this, head to Sebastian's room (the broken mirror, not far from the shelter) and sit on the chair at the end of the corridor.

Sawed-Off Shotgun

When completing the task of tracking the source of the girl's voice using the communicator, you will find yourself in the Residential Zone. This is the starting area of the game world. After meeting the Mobius Operative and finding the first hideout, head north to the side path. Follow this road and go to the second house on the left side, where you will find another operative lying right in front of the building's entrance. Go inside the white house (322 Cedar Ave) and go through the door on your right. In the next room, go along the left edge into another room. Go through the new door and find a hatch that leads to the basement.

On the lower floor you will find a small control room. Go to the computer on the table and use it to go to Marrow: Armory. In the next area there is only one place you can go - to another computer. Use it to get into a new room. The Sawed-off Shotgun is located at the end of this last building. To access it, you need to go down the other side of the first room, go through the door to the left of the elevator, crawl through the tunnel, use another door and finally adjust the amplitude and frequency on the console. Behind the door, which opens through the console, is an armory. There is a case with a sawed-off shotgun on the ground in the corner of the armory. Once you receive this weapon, you can check its upgrades and characteristics in the hideout.

Laser-Sighted Handgun

The first cannon with a laser sight can be found in the Residential area. This is where you will end up when completing the third chapter. At some point you will need to track the location of the Mobius member. He will lead you to the first shelter.

Exit this safe room and head northwest. In this area you will find a wide street approaching the edge of the map. Follow it until you reach an auto parts store. You will see it from afar, as it has bright neon signs. Next to this store, find a gated parking lot surrounded by chain-link fencing.

Jump over the metal fence and look for the body not far from the white truck. Approach the corpse to find a weapon. At this moment, a monster with unique acrobatic skills may attack you. The cannon will still be lying on the ground, so you can pick it up and immediately attack the monster. Then we advise you to definitely modify this weapon to improve its characteristics.

Sniper Rifle

You will actually find a broken sniper rifle, so be prepared to have to fix it later. So, after starting Chapter 3 and visiting the shelter in the Residential Area, turn the camera to the left. You will notice a two-story brick building. on his right side There is a ladder along which you can climb up. Here you will find several more yellow stairs that lead to the roof. Keep climbing until you reach the roof. Then turn left and go to the edge. You will notice a dead body belonging to a Mobius operative, with a non-functional sniper rifle lying next to it.

Flamethrower

To get the flamethrower, you need to deal with the boss that you will encounter at the end of the eleventh chapter. True, this weapon will be broken and you will not be able to use it until you reach the thirteenth chapter.

In Chapter 13, you have to defeat two Harbinger to get fuel tanks for the flamethrower. One of them is located near the starting shelter, and the second is south of the shelter near the Snack Shop. Harbingers are easy to spot - they are masked psychos with flamethrowers.

After killing these two enemies, you can finally assemble a working flamethrower. Be sure to pick it up in the next chapter and use it when fighting Laura to get the “I’ll Take You Down Myself” achievement.

How to improve weapons?

To upgrade your weapon you will need a workbench. Weapon parts will also be needed. You can find one such workbench in the offices of Sebastian Castellanos and in other hideouts scattered around game world. As for weapon parts, they can be lying on the ground and various objects right in the open air, and sometimes fall out of opponents or be hidden inside boxes (containers) that can be opened or destroyed.

As with any item in The Evil Within 2, the number of weapon parts is limited. This is why their correct use is of high importance. If you see a shiny object, then pick it up. Soon you will have collected enough parts for an upgrade. When this happens, it will be time to figure out what exactly is best to pump. And we have some advice on this matter.

Upgrade as soon as possible

For a very long time early stages I believed that spending precious weapon parts on upgrading a pistol that appeared in The Evil Within 2 from the beginning would be irrational. Why spend these items to improve perhaps the weakest weapons in the game?

In thinking so, I was wrong - do not delay time and purchase an upgrade as soon as the opportunity arises.

Each weapon upgrade you make is linked to all weapons of the same category. Essentially, by upgrading a regular pistol, you buy upgrades for an explosive pistol, a pistol with a silencer, or a laser sight. The same applies to the category of shotguns - sawed-off, double-barreled, long-barreled.

Thus, try to upgrade your weapons as early as possible. But which one exactly? Good question!

Upgrade the weapons you use most

The Evil Within 2 allows you to play through the game at your own discretion. If you want to be stealthy, that's great. If you like to run towards a crowd of monsters shouting “HURRAY” - well, it’s your business! It turns out that the weapon you decide to upgrade depends on your playstyle.

If you use a pistol often, then focus on upgrading it. If you're a big fan of the sawn-off shotgun, then spend your weapon parts in the shotgun category. The same goes for shooting with the Guardian crossbow. Although in the latter case it is worth admitting that upgrades to this weapon are practically not justified. In other words, put gun parts in the gun that has the trigger under your index finger.

There is another huge plus in this. If you start distributing parts across all weapon categories, you'll soon find yourself wasting precious resources on tools you never use. A great example would be a sniper rifle. How many times have you already used it during the game? It is very powerful, but has limited use (especially inside buildings). The best investments in the game will be pistols and shotguns.

Advice. Choose your most favorite weapon and upgrade it as soon as possible. Especially the gun. Pistols and shotguns (especially the latter), despite everything, by default are not as powerful as we would actually like. That is why timely purchased upgrades will be of major importance in survival. In addition, without going into the details of our next guide on weapon placement, we will frankly emphasize that a considerable amount of time will pass before you receive a new weapon.
